Before I even tried reading the book, the Magic of Making Up, I already have heard many negative comments about it. Many thought that the book is a scam, especially because the author doesn’t have related education to support his theories. However, after watching TW Jackson, the author, discussing practical and simple ways to successfully fix a broken relationship, I pondered that these negative comments are all based on assumptions, which turned out to be true when I asked a friend who doesn’t support me buying the book.
The only thing that was bothering, and really made me doubt if this book is real, is only the fact that the author, TW Jackson, is neither a psychiatrist nor a doctor. I mean, how did he ever come up with all these advices, tips, and techniques that he listed in his book? But, my breakup with my girlfriend was pretty bad and I thought I would do anything to get her back; so, my journey with the Magic of Making Love began.
As soon as I sat down and read the book, I instantly got hooked up. It’s actually a light reading and the thoughts that have been put into the book are true to life. TW Jackson certainly has an extensive experience with relationships and mending broken ones. He doesn’t have to be psychologically scholarly to come up with the book as he is speaking from experience and social analyses. So, the Magic of Making Up is a book full of processes and methodologies in fixing broken relationships. But on the other hand, it is not like the regular step-by-step guide or how to books. It’s actually more than that. What I really appreciate about the Magic of Making Up is that it has taught me valuable lessons in life. It made me realize the fault and the things that could have been done to avoid the breakup. It taught me not just skills but also genuine respect for myself, my girlfriend and our relationship. Is the Magic of Making Up a scam? No, it’s not!
Talking about skills and tactics that can be learned from the book, TW Jackson provided practical ways to make conversations on the phone or
write a letter to the half. I know it sounds strange. But don’t we do the same thing when we are on lover’s quarrel? I mean, who doesn’t call his girlfriend after a fight? Who doesn’t send sorry letter to her boyfriend after a heated argument? We all do things to make peace with the one we love. Well, breakup is a different story but the same strategies work. The only difference is how we say things. The book teaches people what to say at the right place and time.
My girlfriend and I are now engaged and we are hoping to get married in the next quarter. Our relationship is far better than what he had prior to the breakup. Surely, things happen for a reason and there are blessings that come along the way. We just need to be discerning than judging. Had I not dared to buy and read the book, I wouldn’t be where I am now.
