LDD Caterpillar Infestation in High Park, Toronto

I have never seen the caterpillars as bad as this year, although I understand there have been severe outbreaks in the past. Many of the trees are completely defoliated. Sometimes while I was standing under the once existing canopy I would hear the feces dropping and caterpillars munching away.
